Danchi Days Save File Location: Windows and Mac

The developer publishes the Windows Danchi Days save folder as C:\Users\NAMES\AppData\LocalLow\gingham games\Danchi Days/ and the Mac folder as ~/Library/Application Support/com.gingham-games.Danchi-Days. Replace NAMES with your Windows account name when locating that folder. A Steam Deck path is also published, but its notation and capitalization need the separate caveat below rather than being treated as a device-tested command.

Use the current developer post first

The pinned Save File Locations discussion is the strongest game-specific source in the collected material. It is attributed to developer Melos Han-Tani and displayed an October 25, 2026 edit when checked. The company folder in its current Windows path is gingham games.

That matters because older third-party instructions can use a different company folder. Combining old and new directory names would create a path that neither source actually published. Start from the current developer wording instead of assuming every search result refers to the same build.

Find the Windows folder

The published Windows location is inside your user profile’s AppData\LocalLow directory. Its game-specific suffix is gingham games\Danchi Days. The NAMES text in the developer’s path represents your own Windows user rather than a literal folder called NAMES.

You can use File Explorer to open the corresponding location under your profile. Keep the company and game folder names together when comparing what you find with the published path. A folder for an older build should not automatically be treated as proof that the current developer path is incorrect.

Find the Mac folder

The developer’s Mac path is ~/Library/Application Support/com.gingham-games.Danchi-Days. Finder’s Go to Folder can be used with that published location. Preserve the punctuation in the game-specific directory name rather than replacing it with the Windows company-folder structure.

Unity’s documentation supports Application Support as a general persistent-data location on macOS. It also discusses legacy behavior, which is a reason to avoid treating a generic convention as an independently tested game path. Here, the exact suffix comes from the developer’s Danchi Days post.

Read the Steam Deck path carefully

The developer publishes the following Steam Deck string: home/.local/Share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3107530/pfx/drive_C/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/gingham games/Danchi Days/. This reproduces the post’s notation, including home, Share, and drive_C. The collected research did not independently check that exact spelling on a Steam Deck.

Case matters on Linux filesystems, so those details should not be silently rewritten and presented as a tested command. The published app number also belongs to the full-game path in the post. Substituting the demo’s app ID would be a separate inference, not a verified instruction from this source.

Back up before changing anything

The practical purpose of finding the folder may be to preserve your progress. Close the game and copy the whole located folder before making a manual change. Keeping an untouched copy is different from assuming you know which individual file is safe to replace.

The collected material does not establish a complete set of save-slot filenames. It therefore does not provide a guessed filename or an overwrite procedure. If you are comparing files from different builds, keep their origin clear rather than merging them into one assumed compatible save.

Logs are not save slots

The developer asks crash reporters for Player.log and Player-prev.log. Those names are identified as logs in the post. They should not be described as the files that hold a particular save slot merely because they are associated with the same troubleshooting discussion.

This distinction is useful when the reason for opening the folder is a crash rather than a backup. Follow the developer’s actual request for diagnostic material. Do not rename a log into a save file or assume that copying it will restore game progress.

A folder path does not establish transfer compatibility

Finding a save folder tells you where the published files belong. It does not prove that another version or product can load them. The separate developer announcement states that demo saves do not carry into the full game.

That announcement also makes old-demo saves incompatible with the shorter replacement demo. A backup preserves the original files without changing those compatibility rules. Read the transfer article before treating a manual copy as a supported way to continue in another build.

Understand the source confidence

The exact Danchi Days paths above are developer-published, not independently reproduced on every device in this research. Unity documentation cross-checks the broad Windows and Mac folder conventions. It cannot independently confirm a game-specific company name, suffix, or the Steam Deck string.

That is why this article attributes the paths directly instead of claiming device testing. It also leaves out a native Linux save location and guessed demo path. The useful answer is the strongest published directory information, together with the boundaries that keep it from becoming an unreliable migration guide.
